PTR 05: 2 Days Akha Cherpia trek

Visit tribal village of Akha Cherpia  and other hill tribes  in remote area of Bountai

Itinerary:

Day one: Bountai – Tribal villages – B.  Borhat  – Chawang village.

Meet our guide at Saenphaxay Guesthouse in Bountai.

We take our private car to the point where our trek starts. On the way, we stop and visit villages of Taileu, Taiyang, Akha Mouchee, and Hmong tribes. Driving will finish at Borhat village( village of Khmu).  Then we start our  trek from Ban Borhat to Ban Chawang. Trekking uphill through forests and nice landscapes, then we reach to Ban Chavang village (Akha cherpia). Chawang village is a small village with 14 houses, located on higher mountains. It is a beautiful landscape. The women at this village still wear their traditional clothes. Today we spent overnight at this village.

Approximately: 2,5  hours trekking. Trekking level: moderate

Day two: Chawang  – Ban Namban  – Ban Namhin – back to Bountai.

In the early morning, your sleeping time will be disturbed by roosters’ crowing at about 4-5 am, it wakes you up to see what people doing their morning housework. We can also get up and walk around the village to experience with good atmosphere of fresh air, enjoy amazing landscape, and mountain valley which is covered by clouds. After breakfast, we say goodbye to the host family and village. We walk downhill on animal trail, pass wet rice field and then reach the tractor road, meet our driver there. Wewill  drive back to Bountai, on the way we stop and visit some tribal villages such as Akha Cherpia and Hmong tribes. After visiting, we drive back to bountai, end our trip in Bountai, say good bye your guide and driver.

Trekking: 2, 5 hours, trekking level: moderate

  • Trek starts: at 8:00 am from Saenphaxay Guesthouse. in Bountai.
  • Trek ends: at 5:00 pm in bountai.

Important Do’s & Don’ts:

  • Do not give individual gifts or money to children.
  • Ask before taking photos of people or spiritual items.
  • Help keep the trails clean by not littering.
  • Purchasing handicrafts is highly appreciated, but do not purchase antiques.
  • Always stay with the guides
  • Do not use drugs.
