PTR 11: 2 Days Jungle and Akha tribal Trek

Itinerary:  two  day trekking: day one   Bounthai – jungle trekking to  B jaluangly- jungle trekking B namla – back to Bountai (_/L/D).

Trek starts  at 8-30 am from Senphaxay Guesthouses in Bountai.

 day one:

The private car will bring you to Ban Navai village, we start walking to Jaluangly Conservation Area. Jaluangly Area is the largest and deepest forest. Untouch jungles, there are many kinds of wild animals living in the area. The site is well preserved by local people who live nearby. We arrive at Ban Jaluangly; we meet our local guide who lives at this village, he will take us to trek through the deep forests in the Jaluangly Area. We have a wonderful time for listening to many kinds of birds singing and exploring the biodiversity in the forest. After that, we will trek to see a wildlife pond (a salty place where the kinds of animals come and drink water from this place). Enjoy our picnic lunch. After that, we continue our trek to other side of forest. Hence, we continue our trek to Jaluangly village. When we arrive at the village, we will walk around the village to take pictures of various activities, the Chi Pheng tribe is a tribe who has lived here for a long time.

Day two:

Trek start: at 8-30 am B jalaungly – namlan. After breakfast, we continue our trek to jaluangly Area . From this, we have a wonderful time in the deep jungle. Enjoy listening to many kinds of birds singing. Take time to explore herbal plants and footprints of animals (if found on the trail). Enjoy our picnic lunch in the middle of forest. After that, we continue our trek to other side of forest where there are many kinds of trees, a high mountain range, and fresh nature. After that, we leave from Namlan village and come back to Bountai.

What to Bring:

  • A good pair of shoes for walking

  • Raincoat (in rainy season)
  • Long phants
  • Pocket money etc.

Important Do’s & Don’ts:

  • Do not give individual gifts or money to children.
  • Ask before taking photos of people or spiritual items.
  • Help keep the trails clean by not littering.
  • Purchasing handicrafts is highly appreciated, but do not purchase antiques.
  • Always stay with the guides
  • Do not use drugs.
